Announcement and Chamango

chamango

Today, for the first time in a long time, I remembered I used to write in this blog. The last time I made a post was 4 years ago when I moved to NYC and Krishna took me to Indian Accent for my birthday. Since then, we've had so many fun adventures and today I was feeling disappointed that I never blogged about the many delicious snacks and meals we've had throughout the years. A lot has changed since my last post. My boyfriend is now my husband and almost 1 year ago, we drove cross country and moved to Southern California for work. Instead of eating New York Pizza we're now eating lots of tacos. Chamango is one of my new SoCal discoveries. There are lots of variations, but its sort of like a Mexican smoothie made from mangoes and a sweet, salty, tangy sauce called chamoy. We definitely miss New York and "regular" pizza as Krishna likes to call it, but there is definitely a lot of other great food options here. Krishna is still nagging me to re-start the blog, so hopefully I can actually get back into it this time.

NYC Living

As you may or may not know, I now live in New York City. Although I never have been super impressed by the NYC food scene, I'm excited to eat my way through the city and hopefully be proven wrong! My boyfriend Krishna has been nagging me to start up my blog again and I think it will be a fun way to remember some of our adventures.

I was thrilled when Krishna brought me to Indian Accent, a restaurant that originated in New Delhi and recently opened up in Midtown. The food is the most imaginative take on Indian food. The first few dishes were elevated versions of familiar indian foods like dhokla or chaat, but as the meal progressed the dishes became more original creations highlighting indian flavors. With each dish there was gorgeous presentations, flavors and textures. It was a very memorable meal!
