Conversation between me and Navin:
Me: What you up to today?
Yads: No plans. Wanna get lunch?
Me: Sure. Where do you wanna go?
(awkward silence)
Me: What kind of food do you want?
Yads: Anything (giggle).
Me: Well, that's helpful.
(awkward silence)
Yads: How about Chacarero?
Me: Closed.
Yads: How about Sam Lagrassa?
Me: Closed.
(awkward silence)
Me: Fine, Panda Express it is.

El Pelon
Third and last post today. Its funny and awesome when I accidentally end up at a restaurant on my list. I heard El Pelon had good Mexican food, but I had not planned on going any time. It turns out that its right down the block from the golf course I played at today. I was surprised- it wasn't typical "authentic" Mexican. The tacos were a bit modernized since they also included refried beans, pickled cabbage, cucumbers, and salsa (in addition to chicken and onions). They were good, even though the entire taco fell apart the second I picked it up. Forks ftw.
JM Curley
I've made it clear I think Boston is lagging behind in the food scene. For instance, gastropubs have taken over Philly (not sure about NYC; I will have to consult General Tso), but there seems to be a dearth of them in Boston. And I don't think its because people don't like them here. JM Curley has been open a couple months and its already quite popular. See: this article found in the Boston Globe last week. The food is good too. All I have to say is: popcorn with buffalo butter.
